This Equal Employment Opportunity ("EEO") Report has been prepared on behalf of Station WGEZ (AM), Beloit, Wisconsin, and has been placed in the WGEZ local public inspection file in compliance with FCC rules.

The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning August 1, 2008, to and including July 31, 2009 (the "Applicable Period").

The FCC’s EEO rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

1. A list of all Full-Time vacancies filled by WGEZ during the Applicable Period.  (See Appendix 1);

Appendix 3 to EEO Public File Report for WGEZ

Outreach Initiatives Undertaken

On September 4, 2007, WGEZ started airing announcements sponsored by The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, encouraging anyone interested in a broadcasting career to contact them for more information.  These announcements have continued to air over the course of the Applicable Period.  

On August 13, 2008, WGEZ filed station information about future openings in all departments with Beloit College Field and Career Services, for their "on-line" Internship/Volunteer Expo sponsored by Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin.  This information was available to students for a few weeks via the Internet, in late fall 2008.

On October 28, 2008, WGEZ Operations Manager-Alan Kearns, participated in a Scholarship Judging EEO Program sponsored by The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.  WGEZ aired announcements September 15, 2008 through October 17, 2008, encouraging anyone interested in applying for a scholarship to do so with The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.

On December 2, 2008, WGEZ Operations Manager-Alan Kearns, and WGEZ Office Manager-Carla Cornell, attended an Internship/Volunteer Expo sponsored by Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin.  During this event both Mr. Kearns, and Ms. Cornell, discussed career opportunities in broadcasting and accepted employment applications from interested Internship/Volunteer Expo attendees.

On January 28, 2009, WGEZ was represented at a Job/Career Fair sponsored by The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, held at The Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin.  This event was attended by WGEZ Operations Manager-Alan Kearns.  He discussed career opportunities in broadcasting and accepted employment applications from interested Job/Career Fair attendees.  For a month prior to the event WGEZ aired announcements encouraging anyone interested in a broadcasting career to attend the Job/Career Fair.

For a month prior to a Job/Career Fair sponsored by The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, held at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, on June 17, 2009, WGEZ aired announcements encouraging anyone interested in a broadcasting career to attend.

WGEZ personnel provided tours of the stations offices and studios to various local area student groups over the course of the Applicable Period, during which time the students were provided information about different jobs in broadcasting and what it takes educationally for a career in the broadcast field.
